If you’ve not spent an afternoon at Aquamotion, then I only have one thing to say -
Go to Aquamotion. It’s fabulous.
Worth every penny, especially with its reasonable prices for a world-class swimming pool and spa day.
I’ve never been more zen than after a few hours in Courchevel’s multi-million Euro Aquamotion.
There’s steamy outdoor hot pools surrounded by snow, all-action activities and slides, high diving boards and even indoor surfing.
To top it all off you can relax to the max in the Aquawellness zone, free from kids and dive bombers.
When the weather gets bad and the wind starts to blow, there’s really no better place to hideaway.
Aquamotion in Courchevel - First Hand Review
The unmistakable, iconic, wave-shaped building sits between Courchevel Village 1550 and Courchevel Moriond 1650 making it easily accessible to everyone. A free ski lift was also added in 2019 to accompany the Cimes Blanc private residence and bus stop.
Aquamotion is quickly becoming a hub of Courchevel and you can’t miss it as the main attraction on the drive up the mountain.
As soon as you step inside you know you’re walking into a swimming centre and spa like no other.
The huge complex packs something for everyone, even me who prefers to be out on the snow at every opportunity.
Split into 2 main areas Aqualudique and Aquawellness, let’s find your perfect way to spend at Aquamotion.
Aqualudique Swimming Pools
Walking out of the immaculate changing rooms you immediately arrive in the Aqualudique area. Everyone has access to this range of pools and activities in the regular entry fee.
An indoor and outdoor leisure pool makes a perfect relaxation place for the whole family. The heated water flows outdoors to bubble jets, waterfalls and snow-lined edges for a unique winter swim.
Grab some exercise in the 25-metre length pool before leaping from the selection of diving boards. For the competitive swimmer, line up on the triple water slide and see who splashes out the bottom first.
Or just stay out of the mayhem with the younger kids and babies in a warming nursery pool. The place to splash around in complete safety.
Aquawellness is pure zen.
A place to escape the cold, the kids and the chaos. I promise you, upgrading to access the Aquamotion spa area is a must!
You’ll melt into the 32℃ waters of the indoor/outdoor leisure pool. Bubble away the aches and pains of the skiing in the snow-lined jacuzzi. Take your pick of 3 saunas and a steam room. My choice is always the Finnish sauna followed by a swift dip in freezing plunge pool.
Slip into a tranquil slumber on ergonomic the poolside loungers, perhaps even sneak off for a massage or beauty treatment.
There’s still one more slice of zen which I love. Two words, salt pool. Take the weight away with complete weightlessness, it’s hard to explain the complete relaxation of floating in a darkened room filled with gentle coloured lighting.
How to get to Aquamotion?
Aquamotion is easily accessible as it sits on the main road up the mountain between 1550 and 1650. You can grab a regular free bus from any of the villages to the dedicated bus stop.
If you’re staying in Village 1550 then the centre is a short 5-minute walk from the village. From 1650 you can use the triple escalator from the middle of the village and walk another 500 meters down the hill.
